Dr. Yoon Kim submits a new R01 proposal titled “Transcriptional mutagenesis by oxidative DNA damage, 8-oxodG, in Alzheimer’s disease pathogenesis”
This is an innovative study investigating the role of 8-oxodG-derived transcriptional mutant mRNAs of numerous Alzheimer’s disease-associated genes and its roles in pathogenesis. The study is based upon our recent publication “Transcriptional mutagenesis of alpha-synuclein caused by DNA oxidation in Parkinson’s disease pathogenesis” in Acta Neuropathologica, 2023.
